Bees downed at Poole

Tonight saw the Coventry Bees travel to Poole for the 2nd leg of the play-off semi final having pulled off a pair of stunning last 2 heats in the 1st leg to go into this tie level.

There was some controversy on various forums and social media about Poole's use of former Bee Eddie Kennett in place of Dakota North, missing after being medically signed off due to his father in Australia being unwell yet remaining in the UK, and the Bees cause wasn't helped when the booked guest for the injured Jason Garrity had to be replaced at a late stage.

Tracking rider replacement for the injured Kylmakorpi the Bees needed all riders to be on good form, and sadly on the night the Pirates gated better on a heavy looking track and whilst the Bees fighting spirit was evident throughout the meeting, given the injuries that happened at the wrong time of the season this was a meeting too far for the team who succumbed to a 58-31 defeat, 103-76 on aggregate.
