Bees Beat Leicester

Coventry Bees beat Leicester Lions 52-40 tonight but went down to an 103-79 aggregate defeat.

In the second leg of the East Midlands Bowl, the Bees who were 63-27 down, had Hans Andersen available and took a 5-1 win in a re-run opening heat after both Doyle and Michelsen had gone down.

James Sarjeant and Jason Garrity rode to a 5-1 in the second heat and after a 3-3, Leicester took a 4-2 win in the fourth heat.

With Michelsen now out of the meeting, Stuart Robson and Garrity rode to a 5-1 before Leicester came back with a 4-2 and a 3-3.

James Sarjeant won again to give the Bees a ten point lead and Garrity won heat nine in a 3-3.

Doyle took the tactical ride for Leicester and finished second to Chris Harris in a 4-4.

Leicester took heat eleven 4-2 and after a 3-3, the Bees took a 4-2 with Leicester taking a 4-2 win in heat fourteen.

Hans Andersen and Chris Harris went for the Bees in the final heat and the Bees won 5-1 to finish with a twelve point second leg victory but an aggregate defeat.
