Arredondo Wins Tour De San Luis Stage Six

Trek Factory Racing's Julián Arredondo won the sixth stage of the Tour De San Luis in Argentina.

Race leader Nairo Quintana led the riders out on a 184.4 kms stage from  Las Chacras to Mirador Del Sol, where there was a mountain finish on gradients of 8.75%.

Kenny Dehaes, Arango, Brenes, Delaplace, Keukeleire, Mascarañas and Warbasse were first to attack and took a lead of 5.23 as Richard Mascarañas led the others past the first Meta Sprint line of the day.

Dehaes took the second sprint beating Richard Mascarañas and Juan Arango with forty kilometres to go.

Seven escapers dropped to four in Arrango, Keukeleire, Delaplace and Warbasse who were 1.40 ahead of a peloton led by Movistar and a group, who had avoided a crash involving up to thirty riders including Scarponi and Nibalia for the final twenty five kilometres.

With Quintana along with Godoy and Moyano trying to hang on, the quartet increased their lead to two minutes.  

it was a minute as they started on the final few climbs with  Warbasse sailing over the summit.before he and the other escapers were caught on the Category Three Flamingo climb which leads to the Mirador Del Sol.

This was a day for the escapers and there was Trek's Julián Arredondo (Trek) to take the stage in 4.16.54 with Sergio Godoy second and , Nairo Quintanta, who had battled his way up to preserve his leader's jersey in third. 

Britain's Adam Yates finished ninth and Mark Cavendish was 92nd.

Quintana takes a 35 second lead over Garmin's Phillip Gaimon and 1.57 lead over Godoy into the final stage.
