Anton wins Vuelta Stage 11

Igor Anton regained the leaders red jersey and the points jersey when he won the 11th stage of the  Vuelta a España this afternoon.

Today was the second longest stage of the race and was a distance of 203.4km which took the race from  yesterday's finish in Vilanova i la Geltrú, out of Spain and in to the tax free haven of Andorra.

Mikael Cherel (Francais De Joux ) and Johann Tschopp (Bbox Bouygues Telecom) went clear and got to fifteen minutes ahead but eventually they were pulled back.

Mark Cavendish, wearing the Green points jersey, was up at the front for the final climb through Andorra to the finish. Cavendish dropped back before the breakaway was caught.

Ezeqiel Mosquera attacked with 4km to go along with Vincenzo Nibali. Igor Anton chased backed and got to the front to win in a time of 5hr 25 mins and 43 seconds.

Ireland's Nicholas Roche finished in thirteenth and Joaquin Rodriquez finished a minute back and loses the red jersey to Eustatel's Igor Anton who also took the green jersey of Mark Cavendish with the victory.

Stage 12 is from Andorra La Ville to Lleida.
