Euskatel's Igor Anton snatched the fourth stage of the Vuelta a España.

On the day, where the cycling world mourned the loss of Lauren Fignon who won the Tour De France on his debut in 1983, from cancer, the fourth stage took the race from Malaga up to Valdepeñas de Jaén.

There were a number of breaks but when the race entered Valdepeñas de Jaén, Caisse d'Epargne's Rigoberto Uran charged up the hill followed by a group including yesterday's stage winner Phillipe Gilbert.

Uran was caught with 0.6km to go and Euskatel's Igor Anton took over beat off the chasers to take the stage in a time of 5hr and 28 mins with Nibali second, Peter Vellts third and Joaquin Rodriquez fourth.
