Heinrich Haussler won the Third Stage of Cycling's Tour Of Qatar this lunch-time.

On a day where Vacansoleil rider Riccardo Ricco, who is not competing in this race, is under investigation for blood doping. Stage Three was from Al Wakra to Mesaieed and was 150.5km long.

A nine man break went with 45km to go and included Team Sky's Russell Downing. They were joined six kms further down the dusty road by HTC Highroad's Mark Cavendish and Mark Renshaw who added more sprint points to make him joint second on the road behind Heinrich Haussler, who is now racing under an Australian licence.

As the stage neared its end in windy conditions, race leader Quick Step's Tom Boonen and another Team Sky's Bradley Wiggins were a minute and fifty seconds back.

Mark Cavendish dropped off the back of the lead group with 5km to go as Astana's Australian rider Simon Clarke made a bid for glory.

Clarke kept going and it was not until the home straight that he was caught by Bernie Eisel. Heinrich Haussler went for the line along with Mark Renshaw and just beat him over the line with Bennati in third.

Haussler now takes over the Gold jersey and leads by four seconds from Mark Renshaw.

Stage Four is from West Bay Lagoon to Al Kharaitiyat and is 153.5km long. You can see it on Eurosport 2.
