Andre Greipel Wins Tour De Luxembourg Stage One

Lotto Soudal's Andre Greipel has won stage one of the Tour De Luxembourg and taken over as leader of the race.

Stage one was a 212,6 km stage from Luxembourg City to Clemency and saw MTN Qhubeka's Matt Brammeier, who lost a cleat and nearly a minute in the prologue, Tom Devriendt, Mike Terpstra, Federico , Pit Schlechter and Rick Ampler take a five minute lead after twenty kilometres.

Their lead went out to 6.25 but was down to four minutes with sixty five kilometres gone and 3.15 with eight kilometres to go with Devriendt having taking the points on the first two of six climbs.

With eighteen kilometres left, three of the escapers were caught leaving Brammeier, Terpstra and Schlechter with a lead of 1.58. 

They were caught with six kilometres to go and an sprint ensued with Lotto's Andre Greipel taking the win ahead of Enrico Gasparatto and Danielle Ratto, followed by Petit, Sbaragli, Ciolek, Sinkeldam, Krieger,  Demoitie and Coquard.
