2015 Tour De France To Start With A Time Trial

The 2015 Tour De France will start with a time trial.

The announcement was made during a press conference in Utrecht, which will host Le Grand Depart for the 2015 edition of the world's greatest cycling race after paying a reported ten million euros to stage the race, today.

So only the opening stage which will comprise of a 13.7 kilometre time trial, starting and finishing at Jaarbeurs Conference Centre, next door to the Utrecht Central train station, which for many spectators will be the best way of getting to Utrecht for the opening stage, thanks to the excellent Dutch railway system.

This time trial, the first since Monaco in 2009 when Fabian Cancellera flew home with Sir Bradley Wiggins third, takes place on July 4th 2015.

The full stage details of the 2015 race are to be announced in October 2014 in Paris.
