Warwicks Start Twenty/20's With A Win

Warwickshire opened their Twenty/20 season with an eight wicket victory against Northampton at Edgbaston.

The vistors had put on 65 before Niall O'Brien was caught by Ant Botha. Imran Tahir had been the bowler and he had his second wicket when Boje was stumped by Johnson.

Tahir bowled Loye who had made 54 to leave Northampton on 98-3 in the 14th over.

Botha and Carter both took wickets as Northants ended their twenty overs on 147-5.

When Warwicks batted, Neil Carter was out for twelve but Darren Maddy, who made 88 before he was caught by Brooks off the bowling of former Warwicks player Lee Daggett and Jim Troughton not out 41 ensured that Warwick reached 151-2 with 35 balls to spare.

Tomorrow, Warwicks are at home to Somerset in a County Championship fixture.
