The Beat To Play Coventry

Last updated : 31 August 2009 By Albany Club

This coming September, The Albany Club are hosting a three day event, "The Music Against Racism Festival" in conjunction with the established Love Music Hate Racism group who organise events on a national scale.

The festival aims to provide a bridge of common interest and meaningful interchange between different age, race, ability, economic groups and different cultures in our area and to provide an opportunity for people to engage in community activity through the universal language of music.

Activities will take place over the weekend of September 25th, 26th & 27th. Friday and Saturday will focus mainly on music by a broad range of artistes including prolific headline acts and the very best of local songwriters and performers, and Sunday will be very family orientated, again with lots of music and entertainers but also incorporating the Earlsdon Fun Run and engaging displays by The West Midlands Police and Fire Services. Food and refreshments will be in plentiful supply.

Bands include The Beat, world famous for songs such as "Mirror In The Bathroom", and will be their first gig in Coventry for a number of years.

Tickets are priced at £12 for all three days in advance.
