Stratford Townare out of the Red Insure Cup after a Second Round penalties defeat at Hitchin Town tonight.
At a very windy Top Field, Lucas Kirkpatrick scored with a long range effort to put Hitchn ahead after eight minutes but Stratford came back with a Richard Gregory goal in the 22nd minute and a goal from Jamie Sheldon two minutes before the interval.
In the second half, Stratford were down to ten men when Rob Thompson-Brown was given a straight red and this allowed Hitchin to equalise in the 84th minute.
That meant the game went to penalties. Stratford missed two spot kicks and went out 4-2 on penalties after a 2-2 draw.
