Sounding Off, Telling The Story Of Coventry & Warwickshire's Music

Last updated : 01 June 2014 By CMM

Coventry’s own Music Museum continues to educate and entertain its visitors with its community based Lottery funded Sounding Off events.

The events take the form of an interview, Director Curator of the museum Pete Chambers asks the initial questions, then it’s over to the audience. After it’s a chance to talk to the guests, and learn maybe a little more about them.

Pete Chambers said, “These have become epic events, people love to be part of these intimate gatherings. The feedback we gather after every event is a positive one, and everyone tells us they have learnt something, and that’s the idea of these events. I’m so pleased that the museum is not just a box full of curios, these events expand our agenda, and tell the Coventry music story in a very real and first-hand way”.

If you would like to see what makes the Coventry music scene tick, get yourself to one of the following events (these are not gigs).

Saturday 7th June at 12.00 noon, Taz Singh, Coventry born Bollywood star and singer, Taz also known as Johnny Zee or Stereo Nation, has sold a shed load of albums worldwide, and he’s coming along to tell us how he did it.

Saturday 14th June 12.00 noon, Tom Long, original member of Rugby beat group Pinkerton’s Colours, had a huge hit with the song Mirror, Mirror. Tom is never stuck for words and has a great memory, so be prepared for a superb event.
