League News

Alvechurch F.C. are proud to announce that the club have been awarded FA Charter Standard on 19 June. All eyes are on Edgar Street on Saturday as Hereford entertain FC United of Manchester. With in excess of 3,000 tickets already sold, how many supporters will be present to witness the Bulls take to the field in their own city? Alcester Town have appointed player James Robbins as their new manager following the resignation of Dave Poulson.

The travels of the Press Officer

Saturday 4th July

Enville Athletic 0 Dudley Town 3

I started my journey of travels around the league with no more than a 7 minute journey to Four Ashes as 3rd Division Enville hosted West

Midlands Regional Premier Division Dudley Town. The visitors took the lead inside the first 5 minutes with a powerful header from a corner and they never looked back.  Enville gave a good account of themselves despite the two step gap.  Given that both sides had to contend with a very hot afternoon and a bumpy pitch, they put on decent entertainment for the crowd of around 30.

Tuesday 7th July

Burntwood Town 2 Walsall Wood 3

A last minute decision to take in a game and another short trip to Four Ashes for a friendly between two MFL sides, Division 3 hosting Premier Division. It was the home side that took the lead early on but Walsall Wood equalised direct from a free-kick. Into the second half, Walsall Wood took the lead from the penalty spot but despite being under pressure for large proportions of the game, Burntwood

bounced back to grab an equaliser. With the game almost up, Walsall Wood scored an excellent goal to give them a narrow victory.  Another decent game and a lot to look forward to for both teams

This week, I will be taking in games at Hereford, Lichfield City, Stafford Town and, possibly, Sporting

Khalsa.
