In The Market for the World Cup
Well England may be out of the World Cup, but I'm happy to report that Coventry Markets Mighty football team are embarking on a tournament of a lifetime. Not content in winning the Chamber of Commerce 5 a-side Power League (without losing a game) and going on to beat a Birmingham side of 'Trainee Lawyers 6-2 in a thrilling over the border final.
Now their World Cup beckons and the team are ready to represent Coventry's finest shopping experience once again. This is no ordinary competition; this is the Power League's Greatest Tournament on Earth (with apologies to South Africa). With prize money of £1000, and a chance of winning a replica World Cup, and open to every business in the UK, it's a tantalising challenge to a team that just can't stop winning.
Team Manager Neil Moran, had this to say about his dream team. "Once more the Market Movers embark on another footballing crusade, this time with the intent of winning the prestigious national cup, the winners of which will win £1000 and a trip to the home of the impending world cup winners, whoever that may be. The opposition I expect will this time be far more serious due to the mouth watering prizes up for grabs, but with possibly our strongest squad at my disposal, we intend to give it a serious go, and I am quietly confident we can come away with the spoils.
