Cerebral palsy sufferer Sean McEnery has arrived back in his home town of Coventry with two international caps and a winners medal in the Disability Football Under 19 Home Nations Championships held in Northern Ireland.

The 18 year old McEnery is studying at Henley College  and plays football for
both Coventry City and Henley College Ability Counts teams.

The competition had teams from England, Scotland, Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland. England won two and drew one of their games to take the title in Belfast.

The England team is managed by former Coventry City player Denis Mortimer. England won their first game over the previous champions The Republic of Ireland 5-1, with striker McEnery coming on as a substitute to make his international debut.

Sean then made his full debut against Scotland, which ended in a 1-1 draw. Although Sean didn't  appear in the final game of the championship, which ended in a 10-1 humiliation for the host nation Northern Ireland,  one of the England coaching staff members, Coventry City's Disability Football co-ordinator Paul Reynolds said,  "Sean was absolutely outstanding and it makes me very proud that he has been an exemplary ambassador not only for the England team but for Coventry City and Henley College as well.

"Sean had never flown, been away from home or even out of Coventry before really so to do what he has done and achieve was he has achieved with the team has been superb."
