Godiva Festival returns to Coventry's War Memorial Park and this year we mean business!

Over the weekend of 2nd-4th July 2010, Coventry's War Memorial Park will host the 13th Godiva Festival, the UK's biggest and best FREE and TICKETLESS family festival. Not only does the festival showcase some of the finest local, National and International artists over a multitude of genres and decades over the three days, we have the exciting Godiva Carnival Procession, fantastic laugh a minute performances in the comedy tent, activities and events for adults and children, acoustic performances and all the food and drink you can muster. Best of all its completely FREE!

Friday night in association with Heart 100.7 celebrates 'Back to the 80's', showcasing the best the decade had to offer. Local girl Hazel 'O' Connor and the Subterraneans, Martin Fry from ABC, The Christians and Kid Creole and the Coconuts are set to ignite your retro flames in what promises to be a night of explosive entertainment.

Saturday night sees a mixture of local talent through the Godiva Unsigned winners, Idle Playthings, Tempting Rosie, OST and Black Fang, plus headliner ASH, Badly Drawn Boy, Senser and Detroit Social Club to name but a few. With such a wide variety of talent, Saturday will certainly rock in 2010.

Sunday sums up that perfect family experience. This year you can sit back, relax and unwind in front of superstar Joshua Radin, Tiffany Page, Kirsty Almeida, Lee Mitchell and Jose Vanders to name just a few.

Joshua Radin is an American folk recording artist, songwriter and actor born and raised in Shaker Heights, Ohio. Radin, raised on the sounds of 1960s Motown, Stax and Beatles records, as well as singer-songwriters of the early 70's such as Paul Simon, Cat Stevens and James Taylor, turned to music after college, when he moved to New York City, bought a guitar and taught himself to play and write music.

The Godiva Fringe is the latest addition to Coventry's ever growing and increasingly successful Godiva Festival. Event organisers, CV One ltd decided to introduce the additional performances after listening to the opinions of the local community and artists concerning the presence of local bands at the festival.

CV One, The Belgrade Theatre and representatives from the local music community joined forces to create a new showcase event on Friday 2nd July. The Godiva Fringe will focus entirely on promoting local acts and artists within the CV post code area and will ultimately act as a platform to showcase the talents of homegrown acts to a wider audience.

Held at the City's prestigious Belgrade Theatre, 15 Coventry and Warwickshire based acts will appear across two stages, The Godiva Fringe Main Stage in the B2 Arena featuring a selection of the finest bands the city currently has to offer and The Godiva Fringe Acoustic Stage situated in the Belgrade Plaza featuring top acoustic acts from the local area. It's a free event, and starts from 4pm to 1am.

Carey's Nightclub has once again teamed up with CV One to produce this year's comedy tent. Commencing on the Friday night, funny men Robert Broderick, Terry Alderton, Elis James and Nathan Caton deliver some side splitting jokes and life stories that guarantee mass laughter.

Armed with his own TV show 'The Nathan Caton Show' on Comedy Central, Nathan is taking the stand up circuit by storm. His observational story-telling is second to none and with a young persons outlook on life his show guarantee's laughs from all ages.

This year the award winning Godiva Carnival Procession is back and ready to take over the streets of Coventry with splashes of vibrant colours and a mass celebration of all things Natural World!

Created by Imagineer Productions, in conjunction with CV One and designed by Vortex Creates, this year's carnival will be a stellar production.
