Thomson Staying At Sphinx

Coventry Sphinx Manager Robbie Banks was pleased to announce that Mitchell Thomson has turned down a move to Coleshill Town after they put in a 7 day approach after watching him play in the 1-0 League Cup defeat against Alvechurch.

Banks said to the Sphinx website: "I am more than pleased that Thommo has decided to continue to play for the Sphinx, he is a big part of my plans and since I have took over I have pushed him further forward and looks a different player. He has a good touch, not scared to take player's on and when he does ghosts past players as his pace is very deceptive and he also has an eye for goal. Great news for the club as we try and build a squad capable of pulling us away from the relegation zone.

We have been playing some great possession football but as with what has been the problem all season is converting chances into goals. I have a couple of irons in the fire and hopefully will announce a couple of signings over the next week or so"
