Chris Wilson King hit the post in the 15th minute with the rebound being scrambled away as Sean Gaffney closed in.
The only goal of the game at Sphinx Drive came in the 31st minute when Mark Withers was on hand to fire home after a shot had hit the bar.
Sphinx had chances in the second half but could not make them count and went down to a defeat.
