Coventry Sphinx Youth beat Bromsgrove Rovers 3-1 tonight with an excellent team performance.

With kick off put back by referee Ian Mitchell to allow Bromsgrove players to get to Sphinx Drive, Neil Moran's side were ahead in the 14th minute when Danny Loney steered home a Declan Doherty corner.

Sphinx dominated the rest of the half and should have gone in at the break five goals up but two minutes into the second half, Bromsgrove levelled with a goal on the break.

Danny Loney was one of a number of Sphinx players to hit the bar which was eventually struck five times and in the 72nd minute, a low drive from the edge of the area by Paul Green put Sphinx 2-1 up.

Sphinx kept pressing and in the second minute of time added on, Chris Wilson King scored to give Sphinx a 3-1 victory.

In the Midland Alliance League tonight, Racing Club Warwick lost 2-1 at home to Cradley Town. Michael Osbourne scored for the Racers with an 85th minute penalty.
