Kelvin Phillips put Sphinx ahead in the 13th minute before the Staffordshire side equalised in the 21st minute.
In the second half, Sphinx who gave a debut to Jayden Rikkus (former Sky Blue Dale Jones before he changed his name by deed poll), twice went ahead through Arron Donaldson in the 68th and 73rd minute, only for the home side to get a late penalty and earn a 3-3 draw.
On Tuesday night, Sphinx travel to Barwell.
