Sphinx Lose To Sporting Khalsa

Coventry Sphinx were beaten 4-1 at Sporting Khalsa tonight.

At Noose Lane in Willenhall, Robbie Banks' side, were a goal down in two minutes when Lee Wherton scored from close range.

Sphinx were in no mood to give up and had Robbie Banks fire at the home keeper who watched as a 23rd minute corner hit the post.

In the 31st minute, Khalsa were awarded a harsh free kick and Bannister stepped up to drive it into the net.

Two minutes later, Bannister got through and curled in to the net to send Sphinx three goals down. 

Sphinx pulled a goal back in the 55th minute when Mitch Thomson got in a good position and beat the keeper on his near post.

Sphinx kept plugging away but conceded a fourth from a corner in the final minute of normal time when Bradley Lawley headed in.
