Sphinx Hit For Four Again By Ellesmere

Coventry Sphinx went down to a second 4-1 defeat to Ellesmere Rangers in a Midland Alliance fixture at Sphinx Drive this afternoon.

Kyle Rhodes put Sphinx ahead in the 37th minute only for Danny Barton to equalise a minute later and then a hit a second to see the Shropshire based side ahead at the break.

Two minutes into the second half, Chris Cathrall scored a third and with fifteen minutes of the match left, Steve Towers made it 4-1 to Ellesmere which was the same score when the two sides met earlier in the season.

Sphinx are at home to Stratford Town on Tuesday night in a re-arranged Midland Alliance fixture. Kick off at Sphinx Drive is at 7.45pm..
