Coventry Sphinx were beaten 3-1 in a MFL Premier Division fixture at in-form Alvechurch tonight.
At Lye Meadow, Sphinx got off to a bad start when keeper Scott Dutton was dispossessed and Jordan Nadat slotted into the empty net with less than six minutes played.
Alvechurch added a second goal in the 33rd minute when Dutton failed to hold a shot and Danny Ashton bundled home on the line.
Just before the hour mark, Sphinx were denied a free kick and Conor Deards turned and superbly delivered a shot into the bottom corner of the net.
In the first minute of stoppage time, Mitch Piggon scored from a Thomson cross but it was too little too late.
