The decision by the FA to make Coventry Sphinx play their FA Youth Cup 1st Round against the youth team of League One side MK Dons this Thursday night has left the Sphinx board disappointed.

Sphinx had expected for the game to go ahead on November 6th as the match had to be played before November 8th, however, the FA have insisted that the match must not be played on Thursday October 30th.

Said Neil Long,Sphinx Chairman:"We are disappointed that we do not have longer to prepare. Last time against Nottingham Forest,we had just short of a fortnight to get everything in place but this time we have just four days.

"It is a challenge but we'll work the hours required over the coming days in order to be ready.

"The lads have played superbly well in the FA Youth Cup and they'll remember those nights for the rest of their lives.

"To get the opportunity to play a League One team here at Sphinx in front of a large crowd does not happen very often so we'll make the most of it and ensure that the players enjoy every minute of the occasion.

Admission is an FA set £4 for adults, £2 concessions and £1 for children. Kick off at Sphinx Drive is at 7.45pm.
