Gibbo Remembered

The funeral of former Coventry Sphinx defender Paul Gibbons took place today.

The union flag draped coffin of the Firefighter and manager of Coventry Sphinx U13's, who died on October 26th, was sent on its way into a packed Holy Family Church in Holbrooks with a guard of honour provided by twelve firefighters in their fulll ceremonial uniforms which included silver helmets and a two minute silence.

Over 200 members of the Fire Brigade provided a guard around the church whilst inside, another guard of honour was provided by Gibbo's U14's team.

After the funeral, the cortege paused at Canley Fire Station, where Gibbo had served, before he was interred at Canley Garden Cemetery.
