Dutton Starting To Bring In Players

On Tuesday night Stu Dutton signed his first players as a Coventry Sphinx Manager.

Signing on the dotted line were players from last season Mark Albrighton, Jackson Downie, Luke Downes and Scott Dutton, coming back to the club is fans favourite Ricky Cutting and new and experienced midfielder Ben Steane.

Dutts said ' There's players that I identified from the Sphinx side from last season that I wanted to get on a form as soon as possible. Brights is still more than capable of playing at this level the legs might not be the quickest but his positional play and experience are there for all to see. Luke Downes probably didn't have his best season last year but with teams like Stratford and the like trying to tempt him away you know he still has the quality to perform hope fully I will get the very best out of Luke as on his day he's a match for any player at this level. Jackson is the maverick of the side he can turn a game on its head with one pass a very good player and I am delighted to have him on board. Scott has again had offers from teams at this level and above he has chosen to come and play for the Sphinx he is still relatively young for a keeper and has time to improve and hopefully push on.

Ricky I identified as one of the forwards I wanted to bring to the club hes loved here due to the fact he works his socks off gives 100% and scores goals something which was missing last season finally Ben Steane signed on Tuesday night he has played above this level for a long time he has a lot of respect through the non league game again he may of lost a touch of pace but his guile and experience will be invaluable to a team that last season had an average age of 21 last season.

I will be making further signings over the next couple of weeks and still have players to come pre season who couldn't get along for one reason or another so watch this space as the saying goes'
