Coventry Sphinx Catch Long Eaton Napping

Coventry Sphinx beat Long Eaton United 5-0 tonight in a Midland Football League Premier Division fixture.

Robbie Banks side were ahead in the fourth minute when Keiran Nesbitt raced through to score his eighth goal in fifteen appearances.

Sphinx had a number of chances before Jerome O'Connor missed a 37th minute and Garfield Robinson hit the post. 

Three minutes into to the first half stoppage time and Sphinx had a free kick. Up stepped Trey Brathwaite who smashed the ball into the net from twenty yards.

Haynes had a shot hacked off the line in the opening seconds of the second half.

Sphinx had to clear one off the line in the 58th minute but will eleven minutes left, Lewis Rankin made it three with a low drive. 

In the 84th minute, Sphinx had a penalty for a trip on Zhu Abdirahmsn and Lewis Rankin stepped up to score and five minutes later, it was the old five when Garfield Robinson tapped the ball into the empty net.
