Coventry Sphinx put in a battling performance at Sphinx Drive but were beaten 2-1 by Evostick League side Chasetown at Sphinx Drive on a wet night.
In an entertaining game with both sides playing some good football, Chasetown took the lead just before the half hour mark when they bundled home a corner.
Dave Stringer's side scored a second goal in the 83rd minute and although Sphinx scored three minutes later, Luke Hopkins side could not get the second goal and the draw that their performance deserved.
