Coventry Sphinx have made Robbie Banks their new first team captain for the forthcoming season.
Sphinx boss Luke Hopkins said to the Sphinx website about the appointment: "Right from the start when I spoke to Robbie about coming to the Sphinx, his enthusiasm for the game was their for me to see.
"During training he works hard, encourages and above leads from the front.
" He's a winner and always gives 100% he has captained Rugby at the level above but ultimately he's a leader and has the respect off the lads new and old so its a no brainer for me."
Robbie had this to say: "I am absolutely chuffed to bits to be asked to Captain the side and I will try and lead the club to bigger and better things for the forthcoming season.
"We have a very good squad of players at the Sphinx so its a privilege to be asked to lead them."
