Coventry City won their first "away" game of the season with a victory against Cardiff City.

In this game that was switched to the Alan Higgs Centre due to the rain in Cardiff, both sides  had chances in the opening seconds.

Wearing red and giving Matty West his first run out of the season after over coming a back injury, City had West fire wide in the thirteenth minute before Gary Twose's side broke up the other end and Neil Collett made a superb reaction save to deny Jon Brown at the far post.

Coventry played some good football in the first half with Cain and Man Of The Match Adam Walker having good chances before the half hour mark.

Matty West, was only due to have a twenty minute run out but lasted thirty two, and went off to good applause.

We got closer to a goal as the game entered the second period. An Aaran Wildig header crashed against the post. The Sky Blues countered and after some midfield play, Brad Jones rose to meet a Marshall cross and Josh Herring superby palmed away for a 51st minute corner.

From the next corner some seven minutes later,Coventry took the lead. Marshall took the kick up and his flighted ball found Andy Richie, some twelve yards out. His header went over the keeper and went in at the far post.

The rest of the game was bogged down in midfield but City battled away and ensured they recorded their first double of the season.
