Coventry City Academy Boss Greg Rioch has described City U13's as a massive credit to the club after being narrowly beaten by Charlton Athletic 1-0 in a Premier League Category two National tournament which was played at St Georges Park in Burton Upon Trent.

Andy Crabtree and Steve Lawson's side had seen off Birmingham City, Swansea City and Bristol City in the regional qualifiying tournament before beating Millwall and Leeds United at the new home of the Football Association, all without conceding a goal.

Greg Rioch told the club website: "Having conceded just once in the whole tournament in the final to a very good Charlton side, the team, the staff and the parents have a lot to be pleased about.

"The team are a massive credit to the club and we are looking forward to seeing how the group progresses."
