Coventry City U23's put in an absolutely brilliant come-back to come from two goals down to beat a strong Burnley side 4-2 at the Ricoh Arena.

The Clarets arrived late forcing kick off to be put back to 1.20pm.

When the Premier League side took to the field in front of a bumper crowd due to the school holidays, they fielded a strong side with the likes of Nahki Wells and Vydra as well as former City loanee Danny Agyei against a City side which had Jodi Jones back from injury and Jonson Clarke-Harris In attack with Reise Allassani who scored in the 2-1 defeat at Leeds last week.

The game kicked off and Burnley attacked, playing in Nahki Well who fired past Corey Addai for the opening goal after only 42 seconds.

Sam McCallum looked good for City, getting in a 13th minute shot after a neat turn, adding to the liveliness of Jodi Jones and the hard work of Hickman, Camwell, Eccles, and Willams.

However, Burnley were able to raise their game and in the 32nd minute, Christian N'Guessan was allowed space in the box to convert a cross and put the visitors two goals up.

Jodi Jones was replaced at the break by Billy Stedman for a City side who must have had one massive lecture during the half-time interval as they came out all guns blazing for the second half.

Straight away, City forced two corners and when the second came over in the 48th minute, there was Reece Ford to head firmly into the net.

The Sky Blues attacked again and four minutes later, they were level when good work and a great cross from Allassani was headed powerfully into the net by Jonson Clarke-Harris.

Burnley won a corner in a rare raid on the North Stand goal with Westbrooke getting in a shot to win a corner which saw the ball falling for Chris Camwell to strike a piledriver that the keeper brilliantly dealt with to concede another corner.

A 64th minute Clarke-Harris shot, saw the Burnley keeper down to push round his right hand post for a corner and Wellls went very close with a 68th minute free kick that struck Addai's right hand post.

Addai saved from Well and then a Hickman shot won the first of three corners in quick succession.

Well fired high and wide in the 80th minute and from the resulting goal kick, Reise Allassani was sent on his way and he slipped the ball past the keeper to put the Sky Blues 3-2 up.

Allassani was not finished as in the 85th minute, he got to a cracking cross from the right from Hickman and smashed home for City's fourth goal.

Jonson Clarke-Harris earned himself a caution for going down in the area and appealing for a penalty befoe Allassani left to great applause, as did McCallum when he went off in the 82nd minute, after a shot on the turn had won another corner.

The final whistle came shortly after ending a wonderfully entertaining game and a great second half performance from the Sky Blues.
