Coventry City U18's boss Greg Rioch has said that he is pleased with the football played by his side, who won their opening league game of the season at Barnsley 3-2 on Saturday.

As with their pre-season, which saw the Sky Blues playing a brand of attacking, entertaining football, much enjoyed by those who have seen them, City played some good football at Barnsley especially in the opening 45 minutes and Rioch told the club website: "It is obviously a little bit disappointing when you concede two goals but to get the first win under the belt is fantastic for the lads because they thoroughly deserved it.

"They played some great football in the first 45 minutes despite not creating too many chances but they stuck to the task and I was pleased to see the way they held on during what was alot of injury time."

City are at home to Sheffield United on Saturday in an Inter-League fixture.
