Penalty Miss Costs City U21's Win At Birmingham

Coventry City U21's drew 2-2 at Birmingham City in their penultimate PDL League 2 North fixture.

At St Andrews, Ian Foster fielded a trialist in defence and also included loanee from Celtic Dylan McGeouch.

In the 31st minute, Birmingham went in front through Demarai Gray but a minute before the break, the Sky Blues were level thanks to a stunning 25 yard free kick from Louis Garner.

Seven minutes into the second half and Garner scored again, finishing superbly from a George Thomas pass.

However, Reece Brown ensured that City's lead only lasted for ten minutes when he blasted home following a free kick not being dealt with by the City defence.

Six minutes from time and with both sides going for the win, the Sky Blues were awarded a penalty when Garner was fouled.Garner stepped up and took the kick but Callum Preston saved and the match was drawn.
