Lawton Happier In Midfield

Ivor Lawton has said that he is happier playing in midfield and hopes that showed during City U21's 1-1 draw at Leeds United.

Speaking to Keiran Crowley, the Cov kid, who has been played in defence for City U21's for a number of games this season, said: "I've been playing centre-back for the Under-21s of late and I think I'm playing well there but I don't feel like I can give it my all.

"No doubt about it I prefer to play in central midfield. I was really pleased to get my chance there today and I hope I have proved my point as I am desperate to give my all for the club in there.

"We'll see how it goes between now and the end of the season, it's great for me to be versatile and I'll play anywhere for my club, but I look forward to playing as a central midfield player as I think that's where my attributes suit."
