Highly Entertaining Draw For City U21's

Coventry City U21's drew 3-3 in a highly entertaining game against Queens Park Rangers.

Both first team managers were in attendance at the Ricoh Arena to see a City side start with Adam Jackson, the loan from Middlesbrough in defence and Lateef Elford-Alliyu up front against a QPR side which saw had former City loanee Michael Petrasso on the bench.

City had most of the early play but in the 25th minute, Ryan Manning got in a shot from a very acute angle on the left and the ball squirmed past Reice Charles-Cook and into the net.

City were level within two minutes when George Thomas was on hand to slip the ball past Conor Hudnott from close range.

In the 32nd minute, Ryan Haynes went on a surging run down the left and crossed for Lateef Elford-Alliyu to slot into the North Stand goal. 

The West Londoners drew level in the 40th minute when their skipper Frankie Sutherland curled in a stunning free kick from 25 yards.

In the 56th minute, City were back in front when George Thomas, who had a number of chances scored after rounding Hudnott.

QPR sent on Petrasso in the 64th minute after Elford-Alliyu had hit a post and the former City loanee was involved as QPR levelled in the 67th minute thanks to a Tyler Blackwood header.

With fifteen minutes to go, QPR were down to ten men when James Haran was sent off a second bookable offence after blocking George Thomas, just beforee the Ricoh Arena was lit up by lightening which was followed by heavy rain.

Both sides had chances but a 3-3 draw it was.
