Farndon: It's Testamount To The Lads

Coventry City U23's coach Jason Farndon said it was testamount to his players as they came back from a 3-0 loss away to Millwall to win 3-2 at Cardiff City last night.

Farndon said about the win which saw a brace from Reise Allassani and one from Charlie Wakefield to the club website “We got off to a really good start and I thought we blew them away in the first 35 minutes and we showed that ruthlessness that I’ve been asking for.

“We’ve been guilty in recent weeks of not taking our chances, but we had five shots on target, scored three and the other two were really good saves from their ‘keeper.”

“Despite the goals, I did think sometimes we were a little wasteful in possession and in the second half when they come out fighting, we need to do better.

“We knew they were going to come out all guns blazing, and they caused us problems and they managed to get back into the game.

“They scored from two set-pieces, which I don’t think were in the first place, but we need to defend better from those.

“The lads then get a bit nervous as we get to the end of the game, but we saw it out and we come away with the three points.

“For us to go to a Premier League development side and come away with the win I think it’s a fantastic result

“We fielded a very young side, which didn’t feature one player over 23 and its testament to the lads to get back to winning ways against a difficult side.”
