Jason Farndon said he was proud of his Coventry City U18's who werre beaten in the U18's League 2 National Final at Sheffield United on Wednesday night.

Farndon told Billie Marshall; "We said in the changing room we're disappointed, overall on the night the best team won. They sort of played on what we thought they would target and they're a very big and physical side.

"We started slow in the first half, however in the second I thought we grew into the game but didn't have many clear-cut chances to get the goal we needed.

"It wasn't to be tonight, we looked tired, we've had a tough and long season, but a fantastic season overall.

"It's good experience for everyone, it is not a nice thing to happen but you probably need a little bit of that, It is never a smooth ride in football.

"The quicker they get those disappointments out the way it will make them a stronger person and a better player for it. If it goes your way all the while I don't think that helps your development.

"Of course, we would have rather won the game but it wasn't to be tonight. I'm proud of the boys."
