Coventry City U23's are still without an away win after losing 4-1 at Ipswich Town tonight.

The Sky Blues fielded a strong side with Jodi Jones having another run out in his bid to return to full fitness following his ACL injury and a number of Mark Robins' summer signings.

Ipswich went into this game at Portman Road top of the league and took the lead after eleven minutes when Jordan Roberts was left free to head home from a Chris Smith cross.

Amadou Bakayoko did win City a 35th minute corner that came to nothing and led to a 37th minute scramble in the box from an Ipswich corner.

Ipswich went further ahead in the 40th minute when Ben Folami got down the left and fired past Corey Addai.

City replied just over a minute later when a great cross from Allassini was tapped home by Jodi Jones.

Bakayoko headed a 57th minute cross from Jones on the right wide for City who had Zane Westbrooke working hard in midfield and Reice Allassini looking a threat along with Jones who had a number of shots blocked.

In the 70th minute, Folami got in and found Jack Lankester who drove low into the bottom corner to make it 3-1 to the home side.

Jones curled wide as viewing figures on Ipswich's Facebook which was showing the game live, reached the 800 mark.

Agogo fired high in the stand in the 77th minute before City in their white away kit won a corner which saw Westbrooke shooting high and wide.

In the 84th minute, Ipswich had a fourth goal when the ball was played across to Ben Folami who slotted home.

David Bremang came on for Jodi Jones,  Josh Eccles came on for Bakayoko and Stedman came on for Hiwula as time ebbed away leading to another U23's away defeat.

City U23's are back in action on Friday, at home to Bristol City.
