Coventry City U23's won 5-2 at Birmingham City this afternoon.

In their second League 2 fixture of the season, City U23's travelled to Wast Hills for a game against Birmingham City.

City, fielding most of the team which beat Bolton on Monday, apart from the goalkeeping position where Corey Addai came in for Lee Burge, fell behind to a Hale goal in the 12th minute but were level six minutes later with a stunning free kick from Chris Camwell.

On the half-hour mark, some terrible defending by the home side saw the ball fall for Jordan Ponticelli who smashed into the net to put City in front for the first time in the match.

Three minutes before the break, a free kick was headed back and Reece Ford scored to put Nicky Eaden's side 3-1 up at the break.

Four minutes into the second half and it was four as Kwame Thomas, who scored the winner against Bolton, netted his second goal of the season.

City continued to battle and in the 81st minute, Jordan Ponticelli pounced to score City's fifth.

Birmingham scored a second consolation goal through O'Keefe in the 90th minute but it did not take the gloss off an excellent win for Coventry City U23's.
