Coventry City U21's won 2-0 at Barnsley this afternoon.

Their 0-0 draw against Sheffield Wednesday had seen Dave Hockaday's side go off the bottom of table on goal difference and City travelled to the training ground next door to Oakwell to take on a Barnsley side who were now bottom of the PDL League 2 North Table.

Hockaday named three trialists in his starting eleven which had Aaron Phillips, back after suffering concussion in the Bradford City first team game, taking over the slot held by Jordan Willis for the Sheffield Wednesday game.

Also included were Ryan Haynes, Jack Finch, Conor Thomas and Blair Turgott with Reice Charles-Cook, who has been on the bench for the last few first team games, in goal against a Barnsley side which included Christian Dibble who had been on loan at Nuneaton, earlier this season.

There were no goals in the first half but six minutes into the second half, City took the lead when one of the trialists scored with a header from a Blair Turgott free kick.

In the 69th minute, Turgott was again the provider. slipping the ball for the same trialist to run onto and fire past Dibble and give City three more points in their bid to avoid the wooden spoon again.
