City U21's Lose To Birmingham City

Rock bottom Coventry City U21's were beaten 2-1 by Birmingham City in a PDL League 2 North fixture this afternoon

At Ryton, in a match moved to protect Northampton Town's pitch and played behind closed doors although those working for betting sites were allowed in, Birmingham took the lead in the eleventh minute when Scott Allan rounded Lee Burge.

City, who are using the league as a way of further developing the players, went into the game bottom of the table and fiellding loanee from Norwich City Jamar Loza, drew level in the 28th minute thanks to a stunning goal from Ryan Quinn.

Six minutes later, Wales U17 international George Thomas went close, when the Leicester born striker headed wide following a corner.

The visitors started the second half with corners in the 49th minute and 58th minute and then forcing Lee Burge to make a brilliant save to thwart Reece Brown.

City had two corners in the 69th minute but in the 77th minute, Birmingham City took the win when Kobi Arthur sent over a low cross which Burge could not fully save and Liam Truslove to slotted the loose ball home.
