City U21's Lose To Barnsley

Coventry City U21's were beaten 2-1 by Barnsley at Nuneaton Town.

Darren Murray's side, which included Conor Thomas, Marcus Tudgay, Ryan Allsop, Shaun Miller plus a trailist who has been training with the club for the last few days, went a goal down in the 19th minute to a Barnsley side who were bottom of the PDL League 2 North table when the trialist handled the ball after sliding in and a penalty was awarded which Nana Boakye-Yeadon fired past Allsop. 

In the 63rd minute, City drew level when James Maddison was hacked down for a penalty and the Cov kid, who has scored for City's first team this season, got up to score but seven minutes later, Barnsley had a free kick and Paul Digby fired into the net to put the Tykes back in front and send City to a defeat.

City: Allsop, Whitmore, Dion Kelly-Evans, Barnett, Harries, C.Thomas, G.Thomas (Spence 80), Trialist, Tudgay, Maddison, Miller. Subs: Addai, Maycock, Sambou.

Barnsley: Dibble, Towner, Smith, Abbott, Reumens, Hanna, Jennings, Digby, Dales, Boakye-Yeadon, Maris. Subs: McHale, Francis, Proctor.
