Coventry City U21's were beaten 2-1 by Sheffield United this afternoon

Lee Glover was back to fielding youngsters for this game at AHC after the 1-1 draw at Sheffield Wednesday and his side again included a trialist.

City fielded a Trialist and he was unlucky in the seventh minute when a great move between the Kelly-Evans twins and Kyle Spence saw him have the ball taken off his foot by Aaron Ramsdale in the United goal.

In the 12th minute, City had the ball in the net when a great ball from Jack Finch found George Thomas who slipped the ball into the net only for the assistant to promptly put his flag up,

The Trialist whipped in a shot that Ramsdale brilliantly pushed over for a 13th minute corner.

In the 21st minute a mistake by Jack Finch let in Brooks who found Diego De Girolama on the left and he finished smartly.

Addai had to make a good save to stop a Wright free kick before Kyle Spence sent a thirty yarder just wide.

Just after the half hour mark and Diego De Girolamo cut inside and finished smartly for United's second goal.

Thomas got through in the 37th minute from a great ball from Spence but Ramsdale came out and blocked for a corner.

Thomas just missed on another through ball. United went up the other end and a mistake by Harries led to a United free kick and then a corner before the half ended.

With Arron Martin, Chris Stokes and Mick Harford watching on, United won a 47th minute corner. That was eventually met by Callum McFazdean who scored only to see the flag up.

The trialist got through in the 52nd minute but Ramsdale blocked for another corner.

Ramsdale made another great save to deny Spence in the 54th minute.
City attack through Ben Stevenson who got down the middle and carried on and finished neatly to get City back in the game.

A cracking Addai save in the 59th minute gave United a corner but the City defence cleared.

Spence won a 61st minute corner which was followed by another two minutes later.

The Trialist who showed some promise on the right flank, fired wide.
United nearly had a third in the 77th minute when Ben Whiteman sent in a curling free kick that just missed the far post.

City won a corner. Terry Kennedy scrambled away the first and when the ball came in, it was hacked clear again.

For the last ten minutes, Jay Albini who replaced the Trialist and Bas Sambou was also sent on.

However, they did not get much of the ball as United got down the left and Aaron Phillips did enough to divert the ball away from the goal line for a corner.

United attacked again and Phillips made a timely intervention to concede a corner.

United won a corner in the 84th minute and Phillips was on the line to block a Jake Wright header for the first of two more corners.

Addai made two more good saves late on as City went down to a defeat to a better more physical side.
