Jason Farndon and Dave Hockaday  were in charge of a City team which had two trialists as well as James Maddison, Ryan Haynes, Jack Finch, Blair Turgott, and Cian Harries back after his international outing with Wales U19's in Germany for this game at the Ricoh Arena which was attended by former players Ray Gooding, Ian Goodwin, Ronnie Farmer and Claus Jorgensen, plus Steve Ogrizovic, Neil MacFarlane and Tony Mowbray and around fifty supporters.

City in all sky blue, conceded a corner in the fourth minute when the defensive trialist cleared for a flag kick that was headed over by Fraser Horsfall.

Two minutes later and Huddersfield, managed by former City Reserve team boss Frankie Bunn, won another corner which was cleared by Bangura,

Maddison battled to play in Turgott for a ninth minute shot which he sent wide before the Terriers won a corner in the tenth minute.
Six minutes later and Turgott was sent crashing on the right in front of the away end. Maddison took the free kick and it came down to Al Bangura who drilled a shot low and wide to the right of Allinson's far post.

In the 27th minute, City took the lead with some good work from Jack Finch in midfield to find Blair Turgott out on the right. The former West Ham player who is on a short term contract cut inside and finished low into the bottom corner of the net.

Four minutes later and it was two when the attacking trialist was sent on his way and he calmly rounded Allinson and slotted the ball into an empty net.

Sondre Tronstad fired at Charles-Cook in a rare attack that was permitted by Ivor Lawton who was superbly marshaling City's defence.
Bangura fired wide in the 41st minute as City went in at the break in control.

James Maddison was replaced at the break by the third trialist for a City team which allowed Liam Coogans to head wide in a minute into the second half.

Bojaj fired at Charles-Cook who got down to smother three minutes later as Huddersfield had the early pressure.

Bojaj headed over before Turgott won City a 55th minute corner.
The beanpole that is Phillip Billing used his long legs to get in a 56th minute shot which dipped just over the bar.

A minute later and Huddersfield pulled a goal back when Bojaj headed down and substitute Ronan Coughlan fired past Charles-Cook from a few yards out.

Turgott wasted a corner before Ben Stevenson was sent on for Jack Finch.

A mistake from Steven let in Coughlan but thankfully, he flashed his 68th minute shot well wide

Turgott won a corner and Haynes sent a cross over the bar before Coughlan shot wide. Huddersfield then won two corners but City were able to recover.

Bojaj fired over again before both teams made their final changes with six minutes left.

Huddersfied won a corner with two minutes to go and there was Joe Wilkinson at the back stick to bundle to ball into the net and deny City a win.
