Coventry City U21's were beaten 4-2 at Derby County in a PDL League 2 North fixture.

Ian Foster's side fell behind in the fifth minute of this game played at Derby County's training ground when the Rams won a corner taken by Jacobs and Valentin Gjokaj headed past Lee Burge.

The young City keeper made a brilliant save to deny Mason Bennett in the 25th minute, after Morch had held a Ben Maund shot at the other end.

Burge made another great save in the 36th minute, diving to push away a Jacobs twenty yard free kick.

Adam Barton was replaced at half-time by Leon Lobjoit but six minutes into the second half, Derby went two goals up when Mason Bennett saw his cross volleyed into the net by Max Lowe.

City replied with a lovely goal from Mathieu Manset, his third for City U21's this season, in the 56th minute, curling high into the net after battling his way past a couple of defenders.

The Sky Blues came at Derby once again and a 59th minute Ben Maund shot was not held by Morch and there was Louis Garner to draw City level at 2-2.

A minute later, and Derby were back in front thanks to some good work from Charles Vernam's who laid the ball back to Andy Dales who slotted into the net.

Manset set up Maund for a shot which Morch saved and Burge saved from Dales.

Chances of City getting something out of the match ended with fifteen minutes left, Derby scored a fourth when Max Lowe was allowed space to get in a shot which flew past Burge, leaving City still looking for their first league win of the season.
