Coventry City U21's put in an excellent performance to beat Brentford 4-2 this afternoon at AHC.

A City side with Stephen Hunt at left back and new boys Vladimir Gadzhev and Bilal Sayoud in midfield, were a goal down in ten minutes when Jan Holldack was allowed space in the area to score with a low shot.

George Thomas hit the post in the sixteenth minute and thirteen minutes later, he was involved in a move which saw Sayoud cross for Kyle Spence to head in and get City level.

Devon Kelly-Evans hit the post from a Thomas ball two minutes before the break.

Forty two seconds into the second half and Ben Stevenson hit a shot which was deflected into the path of George Thomas, who lashed it into the net. The Brentford players stood and stared at the referee but the goal was given.

In the 56th minute, City had a third goal when substitute Jordan Shipley found Thomas on the left. He centred and there was Ben Stevenson to score.

Brentford had a second goal in the 73rd minute from a quickly taken free kick which saw Josh Bohui raced on to score.

In the 84th minute, City were awarded a penalty. Up stepped George Thomas and City took a 4-2 win.
