Coventry City U18's put in another superb performance to beat Wolves 3-0 in a pre-season game.

In an opening period watched by Aidy Boothroyd and Steve Ogrizovic, it was another positive first period for the Sky Blues.

The half started with a Billy Daniels shot going just wide, followed by a tenth minute run and shot from Johnson Harris who was holding the ball up well.

Trialist keeper Lawrence Thomas made one good save in the 22nd minute but it was City who had a hard working midfield led by Connor Thomas and Luke Bottomer who took the lead.

The goal came from the centre of the pitch through a sublime 37th minute pass from Conor Thomas to Gael Bigirimana on the left. His flick into the penalty  area and although the Wolves keeper got a touch, Billy Daniels was able to stroke the ball into the net from six yards.

Birgirimana then forced a good stop from the visiting keeper before the half ended with a surging run and shot from Luke Bottomer.

It was more of the same in the second half as Cyrus Christie, who was a worthy nominee for man of the match, having a surging run three minutes into the second half.

With each City player sticking to their task, chances grew in frequency. Luke Bottomer struck the bottom of the post with a shot from the right in the 63rd minute before he unselfishly squared for Harris to fire wide.

In the 70th minute, a deft cross from Conor Thomas was headed wide by Harris. City got the ball back straight away through Daniels and Birgirimana struck the bar from the edge of the area.

Ten minutes from time, Birgirimana repeated the feat with a left footed twenty yarder. The rebound fell for Joe Henderson who knocked it back for Birgirimana to chip over the keeper and into the back of the net.

Then two minutes from time, a fine victory was completed when Birgirimana started and finished a move to beat the keeper from 14 yards for City's third.
