Coventry City U18's were beaten 3-1 by Crewe Alexandra

On a blowy lunch time at AHC, City won two early corners as did Crewe in the opening ten minutes.

Crewe, who needed to win to keep their play-off hopes alive had a shot dip just over before Skuza pulled off a tremendous save to beat away a shot from their number ten Keily in the 14th minute.

A minute later and Finn attacked and was brought down by the keeper who was booked. Camwell took the free kick and won a corner and then played in Hickman for a shot which the keeper pushed away.

Crewe took the lead in the 21st minute with a free kick from the edge of the area which Keily took and sent high into the net.

Three minutes later and Crewe had a second goal when Dale held off the City defence and put the ball low under Skuza.

Dale hit the post in the 27th minute with a right footed effort and then Skusa dived to his left to push away a Keily effort.

Crewe should have increased their lead in the 37th minute when Pickering headed over.

Hickman helped City win a 43rd minute corner. However, Whitmore lost possession and the ball was played over to Luke Wally who smashed the ball into the net.

Keily missed an open goal as the half ended with City three goals down.

In the 65th minute, City won a corner that was cleared and eventually led to Dale turning and firing wide at the other end.

City started to create chances and in the 76th minute, they had pulled a goal back when substitute Dan Smith scrambled the ball home from a Green pass.

Camwell, who had another fine game, had a shot deflected Finn flicked wide and Tom Bayliss fired over from a free kick but City were beaten.
