COVENTRY CITY U18'S 0-7 HUDDERSFIELD TOWN

Coventry City U18's were hammered at home this morning by Huddersfield Town.

On a sunny morning at the Alan Higgs Centre, both sides had early chances including an 18th minute shot from Chris Camwell from a sublime Shipley pass which flew off the keeper's right hand post.

In the 21st minute, Huddersfield took the lead when the new City keeper pushed the ball away and Huddersfield's number 9 slipped the ball into the net.
Finn, Camwell and Hendricks all had chances as did Dan Smith from a 31st minute Hendricks cross.

Huddersfield increased their lead with a smart finish from a cross from the right in the 35th minute and a minute a later, it was three when the City defence stood as a powerful shot flew into the net.

Jason Farndon sent on Jak Hickman for the second half and it was another positive start with a 51st minute corner.

Camwell drove wide three minutes later but Huddersfield went up the other end and crashed a shot onto the cross bar from six yards.

On the hour mark, Huddersfield had a fourth goal when their number eleven who had a number of chances scored with a well taken goal.

A fifth goal followed in the 66th minute when an attack saw the ball swept home from twelve yards.

Goal number six came courtesy of City's goalkeeper allowing a tame shot to trickle past him on his left hand side to further display Huddersfield's superiority over a very poor City side.

Camwell sent a 78th minute free kick wide and Jay Albini fired over after a run and shot in a late rally for the Sky Blues who also won a corner.

The brief spell ended when Huddersfield scored with an 87th minute lob over the keeper and left City with a 7-0 defeat.
